Questions
A student forgot their password.
Open the class Pupils tab, find the student, and tap Reset password. READSmart issues a new temporary password valid for 72 hours; copy or print it from the card that appears.
Why can a student not record?
Either a guardian's refusal or withdrawal is on record for that student, which your school administrator can check, or the reading check you want them to join has closed.
Why is READSmart's estimate different from my score?
The automated estimate is a measurement taken from the recording and corrected for a known bias found in this study, not a validated substitute for a teacher. Your entered score is the official Phil-IRI result.
Can a student read a check again?
Yes. Adding them to a new check, or an open session that already lists them, shows a note that they already read that set, but a retake is still allowed. Their newest reading becomes their latest wherever READSmart shows a level or score.
What happens to recordings?
Practice audio is deleted automatically 30 days after it is sent. Assessment audio stays available for review unless a guardian later withdraws consent, which requests erasure of the recordings tied to it.
