Get READSmart Offline
READSmart Offline is a separate app for Android phones. It works with no internet. You read stories aloud, answer questions and take reading checks. Your readings stay on the phone, so your teacher does not see them.
Ask a grown-up to help you get it.
- Go to readsmart.app/install and find READSmart Offline.
- Tap Download for Android.
- Open the file. If the phone asks, allow apps from this source.
- Open READSmart Offline and add your name.
You can also get the app from a friend's phone over Bluetooth or Nearby Share.
The app includes Whisper Base. It listens to your voice on the phone. You can record and get scores with no internet. Leave about 300 MB free for the app and its model. Ask a grown-up to help with updates. Keep the old app installed so you keep your saved readings.
Check your phone

Tap Speech models, then Test your device. Keep the page open while it checks a short sample. It does not record your voice. Base is ready to use from the start. If Base runs well and the phone has enough free space and memory, the Small download opens.
Ask a grown-up before you tap Download and test Whisper Small. Use Wi-Fi. The app checks the new model before switching to it. If Small runs well and the phone has enough room, you can download and test Medium next. If a model runs slowly, the app keeps the lighter one selected. After each download, it works with no internet.
If checking a reading takes too long, open Speech models. Tap Test and use beside a smaller model saved on the phone, such as Base or Small. The app tests it again before switching. You can also download and test Tiny. It is the lightest model. Base stays ready while the new model downloads. A lighter model may miss more words.

Record and see your result
Pick a story, or tap Take the check. Tap Start reading aloud. Read the whole passage. Tap Stop when you finish. You can play your voice back or tap Record again.
Tap Go to the questions. Keep the page open while the app checks your voice. Then answer the questions and tap Finish. If the check fails, try again in a quiet place.

Your result shows how many words matched, how fast you read and how well you understood the story. WCPM means correct words in one minute. Scroll down to see which words the model heard differently and review your answers.
The speech model can make mistakes. These scores help you practice. They are not an official school reading record. Ask a teacher or grown-up if a result looks wrong.
See your progress

Tap My readings under English or Filipino. You can see past scores and open a result again. Your latest word score also appears on your home page. Each language has its own grade and progress.
Old readings may only show answers to the questions. Their voice recordings were not saved. Record a new reading to get word accuracy and speed. You can take an old check again if it has no word score. Clearing the app's data or removing the app deletes your saved progress.
